Retirement Reflection
What a contradiction of feelings this season of the year brings. We delight in bright lights, warm fires, and the generous spirit of giving in the air! And yet we are also overwhelmed with the added chores of decorating, cookie baking, present shopping, and all the time and expense that goes along with these activities. We smile at the happy memories made during the year – weddings, births, new friendships, personal goals accomplished, and work milestones reached. And yet we worry about the future – will it be filled with health, wealth and happiness or struggle and challenges.
My world of contradictions is self-made. I have chosen December 31, 2015 to retire. It has been my joy and my pleasure to work here at STAT Office Solutions since February 2007, just shy of nine years. During that time I had the satisfaction of watching our number of clients grow considerably, expanding into 39 countries over six continents. I have been graced with getting to know so many people, clients and co-workers, vendors and colleagues, and the memory of the friendships made will remain with me well into the future.
This note is my thank you to each of you for making me happy to come to work each day. It pleases me to know that soon both our physical and virtual clients will be able to enjoy a beautifully renovated facility, something that has been many long years in the planning. I am confident that you will each embrace the new center manager with the same warmth and good humor you have shown me.
So in this season of ringing out the old, and ringing in the new, I would like to share with you these final wishes – that you always have a list of dreams, projects and hopes to keep you motivated; that you not be afraid to try new things and change old ways; that although timing may not be as you had planned, you have the power to make lemonade out of lemons; that you remember to treasure each new day as a blessing and to allow yourself to be a blessing to others; and that you never take your family and friends for granted, for they are what make life worthwhile.
With deepest appreciation!
Linda
